A smart toilet is a toilet with built-in electronics that clean, flush and dry hands-free — sensor flushing, a bidet wash nozzle, a heated seat, and often a self-cleaning or deodorising function. It replaces both a standard toilet and a separate bidet in one unit. At Big Bath our smart toilets come as tankless models or with an integrated cistern, in S-trap rough-ins to fit your existing floor waste outlet, backed by our in-house installation team across Peninsular Malaysia.

What a Smart Toilet Does

Sensor / Auto Flush

Flushes automatically when you stand up or walk away, and many models also flush on approach. No buttons or handles to touch — more hygienic for the whole household.

Bidet Wash & Air Dry

A retractable nozzle sprays warm water for front and rear washing, with adjustable pressure, position and temperature. A built-in air dryer finishes the job, reducing reliance on toilet paper.

Heated Seat

The seat warms to your chosen setting — a genuine comfort upgrade, especially for air-conditioned bathrooms and elderly users.

Self-Cleaning & Deodoriser

Many models pre-mist the bowl before use to stop waste sticking, and run a deodoriser or UV steriliser to keep the toilet fresh between cleans.

Tankless vs With-Tank Smart Toilets

Tankless smart toilets are sleeker and save space, but they rely on your home's water pressure to flush — so they suit homes with consistent, adequate pressure. With-tank models store water in a built-in cistern and flush reliably even at lower pressure, making them the safer pick for many Malaysian homes. We stock both, in Basic and High trim levels.

How to Choose the Right Smart Toilet (Quick Checklist)

  1. Check you have power. Smart toilets need a 230V socket nearby. Plan the electrical point before you buy — most need power within reach of the unit.
  2. Know your water pressure. Low or inconsistent pressure? Choose a with-tank model. Strong, steady mains pressure? A tankless model is fine.
  3. Match the trap and rough-in. Our smart toilets are S-trap (floor outlet). Confirm the centre distance (150–400mm) to your waste pipe before ordering.
  4. Pick the features you'll use. Bidet wash and heated seat are the headline upgrades; auto-open lid, night light and self-clean are nice-to-haves.
  5. Book installation. Smart toilets combine plumbing and electrical work — let our team handle both in one visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a smart toilet?

A smart toilet is an electronically powered toilet with built-in features such as sensor flushing, a bidet wash nozzle, a heated seat, air drying and self-cleaning. It does the job of both a standard toilet and a separate bidet in a single unit.

Do smart toilets need electricity?

Yes. Smart toilets run on mains power, so you need a 230V socket within reach of the unit. If your bathroom does not have one nearby, have an electrician add a point before installation — our team can advise on placement.

Tankless or with-tank smart toilet — which should I get?

If your home has strong, steady water pressure, a tankless model is sleeker and more compact. If pressure is low or inconsistent — common in some Malaysian homes — choose a with-tank model, which stores water and flushes reliably regardless of pressure.

Do smart toilets need high water pressure?

Tankless models do, because they flush using your mains pressure directly. With-tank models do not — they hold water in a built-in cistern and flush reliably even at normal or lower pressure.

Can I install a smart toilet in place of my existing toilet?

Usually yes, as long as there is a power socket nearby and the trap type and rough-in distance match your existing waste outlet. Our smart toilets are S-trap (floor outlet); send us a photo of your current setup on WhatsApp and we will confirm fit before you order.

Do smart toilets have soft-close seats?

Yes. The smart toilets we stock have soft-close, slow-closing seats as standard, alongside the bidet, heated-seat and sensor-flush functions.

Do you deliver and install smart toilets across Malaysia?

Yes. Big Bath has 10 showrooms nationwide and in-house technicians across Peninsular Malaysia who handle both the plumbing and the electrical connection in one visit. WhatsApp your nearest branch for stock, delivery and installation pricing.
