A dishwasher saves time, water and effort — and modern units clean and dry better than hand-washing while using less water. At Big Bath our dishwashers come built-in (integrated) or freestanding, in capacities from compact to full family size, across 10 showrooms nationwide.

Types of Dishwashers

Freestanding Dishwashers

Stand-alone units you can place anywhere with a water and drain connection. Easy to install and to take with you if you move.

Built-In (Integrated) Dishwashers

Hidden behind a cabinet panel for a seamless kitchen look. Fully integrated models hide the controls too; semi-integrated show a control panel at the top.

Compact / Tabletop Dishwashers

Small units for small kitchens, apartments or light use — sit on the counter or in a cabinet.

How to Choose the Right Dishwasher (Quick Checklist)

  1. Size by household. Compact (6 place settings) for 1–2 people, standard (12–14 settings) for a family, large (15+) for big households.
  2. Built-in or freestanding? Built-in for a seamless look during a renovation; freestanding for easy placement and moving.
  3. Count the programs. Look for an eco wash, intensive, quick and a half-load option to suit how you cook.
  4. Hot-water or cold-fill? Some models can connect to your hot water for faster, cheaper cycles — check your kitchen setup.
  5. Energy rating. A higher rating costs less to run over the machine's life.

Dishwasher Features to Look For

  • Multiple wash programs — eco, intensive, quick, half-load.
  • Adjustable racks / cutlery tray — fits tall plates and large pots.

Frequently Asked Questions

Freestanding or built-in dishwasher?

A freestanding dishwasher is easy to place anywhere and simple to install — good for retrofits. A built-in (integrated) dishwasher hides behind a cabinet panel for a seamless kitchen look, but is best planned during a renovation. Choose freestanding for flexibility, built-in for a clean look.

What does 'place settings' mean?

A place setting is one diner's worth of crockery and cutlery. A 12-place-setting dishwasher holds enough for a typical family wash; 6 settings suits a small household; 15+ suits a large family. Size the machine to your daily wash.

Do dishwashers use a lot of water?

No — a modern dishwasher typically uses less water than washing the same load by hand, especially on the eco cycle. They also clean at higher temperatures than hands can stand, for more hygienic results.

Can a dishwasher connect to hot water?

Some models can be connected to your hot-water supply, which shortens the cycle and saves electricity since the machine does not heat the water itself. Check whether the model is hot-water or cold-fill before installing.

Where should I put a dishwasher?

Next to the kitchen sink if possible — that keeps the water inlet and drain hose runs short and makes loading scrape-rinsed plates easy. Built-in models need a planned cabinet space; freestanding models just need a water and drain point.

Are dishwashers quiet?

Modern dishwashers are much quieter than older ones, and premium models run at low decibel levels suitable for open-plan kitchens. Check the noise rating if your kitchen opens onto a living area.

Do you deliver and install dishwashers?

Yes. Big Bath has 10 showrooms nationwide and in-house installers across Peninsular Malaysia who handle the plumbing connection, with ready stock in Kota Kinabalu (Sabah) and Kuching (Sarawak). WhatsApp your nearest branch.
